Hello, I’m Susi!

I am a Hungarian born, Amsterdam based food stylist, food photographer and food writer. With almost ten years of experience in a high pressure academic environment, the kitchen and the photo studio have been my creative outlet and a sense of solace in both the easy times and the hard.

My earliest memories come from long summers at my grandparents’ farm. Their love and care for fresh fruits, vegetables and local products shaped my gastronomic outlook. I remember sneaking out the house, going to the end of the garden, picking fresh raspberries from the bushes or strawberries from the fence and eating them. It didn’t even cross my mind to think about washing what I ate back then. It was pure, organic and free.

Sometimes, I would sit in the backyard and compete with my sister about who could shell the most peas. Which was pretty tricky, because as the peas were so sweet that we ended up eating almost the whole bowl.

This is where it all started. Before my Eastern European-influenced culinary heritage took on a new dimension during my time in Spain, Argentina and the Netherlands.

Like my granny and mom, I express love to my family and friends through flavours, colours and aroma. I love organizing big feasts, cooking and baking delicious recipes, and capturing these memories in pictures and narratives.
